How
the Program Works
The Children's Education Fund provides partial tuition assistance
to economically disadvantaged children.
The
assistance is in the form of a scholarship and enables parents
to send their children to private schools they might not otherwise
be able to afford. A parent can use the scholarship to send their
children to any private school in Dallas.
- Interested
parents fill out our application form.
-
Applications are for entrance into the program, not for a specific
school year.
-
All accepted applicants go onto a wait list.
- Scholarships are offered at the beginning of a school year (June-Aug).
-
When openings occur, we turn to our wait list and grant scholarships on a first-come, first-served basis.
-
All scholarships are for one year, but are renewable each year up to the eighth grade (providing the family
continues to meet CEF criteria).
There
are no academic or athletic requirements for receiving a CEF scholarship.
A child need not be talented or gifted; most, however, are economically
disadvantaged and often are considered "at risk".
